Charitable wedding donations have become a popular, alternative wedding gift. More and more people are replacing once-traditional favors with a meaningful message on a place card or tag that lets their guests know that a donation to the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research has been made in their honor.
Tying values with vows, the Hirshberg Foundation is pleased to offer a free “Wedding Donation Program” so that couples can discover ways to incorporate charitable giving in their wedding celebration and beyond! Your fully tax-deductible gift will provide a personal and memorable way to celebrate your event while supporting our research and patient services.
There are two options to choose from:
In Lieu of Gifts: Wedding couples can order complimentary invitation donation cards for their wedding invitations that request guests to make a donation to the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research Foundation in lieu of traditional gifts. This package includes In Lieu of Gift cards, a personalized acknowledgement for you to place near the Guest Book signing location, and a complete list of donations made in honor of your special day, after your event.
In Lieu of a Wedding Favor Kits: To announce your gift, wedding couples can order personalized wedding favor donation announcements or tags for their wedding tables. This package includes In Lieu of Favor cards, organza satchels, purple Hirshberg awareness ribbons and a personalized acknowledgement for you to place near the Guest Book signing location. You can fill the organza satchel with your favorite candy or almonds….

ORDERING INFORMATION
It is our pleasure to offer this program to family and friends that have been touched by pancreatic cancer. We do suggest that a minimum donation of $2.00 per guest be made, but we appreciate whatever you are able to donate. The Hirshberg Foundation will be responsible for the printing and cutting.
FEES
In Lieu of Gift cards: There is no charge for the Gift cards, but we do request that a minimum donation be made. Standard shipping is included unless expedited service is requested.
In Lieu of Favor kits: There is a donation minimum to receive the kits. Standard shipping will be included unless expedited service is requested. (please see below)

WEDDING DONATION FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ’s)
How does the In Lieu of Favor Kits work? The bride and groom decide that they want to start off their new life together by honoring or remembering a loved one touched by pancreatic cancer. They can make a tax-deductible donation to the Hirshberg Foundation instead of purchasing wedding favors. It can be in honor or in memory of someone special or they can make it in their name. To announce their gift, we will send out a Wedding Favor kit which includes a personalized donation announcement card along with an organza satchel and a Hirshberg Foundation purple ribbon. If you want, you can fill the satchel with a special candy or picture as the favor for your guests.
How does the In Lieu of Wedding Gifts work? The bride and groom will send out a personalized card in their invitation with information on how to send a tax-deductible donation to the Hirshberg Foundation in lieu of a gift.
Is there a minimum for the wedding couple to make? We would request that a $2.00 per guest minimum be made for your donation, but we appreciate whatever you are able donate.
Is there a minimum donation that a wedding guest needs to make? There is no required minimum donation on a gift to a bride and groom.
Will the bride and groom be notified of your donation to the Hirshberg Foundation in lieu of a gift? Yes, the bride and groom will receive a complete list, after their wedding, of all the donations made in honor of their wedding.

How long does it take to get the kits or cards? If it is a standard shipment, it will take 7-10 business days. If it is expedited, it will be whatever the time frame is that we are given.
