Rano Papini Memorial Fund

My Story:

Rano Papini was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in July of 2009 at age 53, and fought a valiant battle against the disease, playing piano at The American Restaurant in Kansas City up until the last three weeks of his life. He was treated with exceptional care at Kansas City Cancer Center of Shawnee Mission, KS, and at M.D. Anderson in Houston, where Dr. Reddy and staff were expertly attentive to Rano's care and comfort. Rano died peacefully in the company of family at his sister Claire's house in Tubac, Arizona, with a view of the Santa Rita mountains.
